After graduating from Mithila University (India), he adopted a career as a language teacher and served at L.P. Founded in the memory of his loving mother, (late) Mrs. Indumukhi Mishra, Indumukhi Publications is a dream project of Suniti Chandra Mishra with sole motive to establish a publishing house with the ‘Authors’ in mind. The aim is to provide an easy-to-access, affordable and author-friendly platform which the budding writers can rely for publishing their books and reap the maximum benefit from the sale of their books. A publisher connects the authors with their readers and this process surely involves investments, marketing, teamwork and time. Naturally, therefore, publishers need to make their cost for the time, energy and resources they put; however, it is the author who has put his or her maximum efforts in creating a useful book. He or she has spent many months conceptualizing, researching, finalizing and presenting the book. So, in monetary terms, his or her share in the proceeds of the book must be significantly greater. This is one of the basic concepts on which Indumukhi Publications has been founded. Therefore, if you feel you can write, Indumukhi Publications is there for your help.

ABOUT INDUMUKHI PUBLICATIONS

Indumukhi Publications is a dream in making and we believe that all great realities are made out of solid and persistent dreams. To be truthful to our readers, this publishing house—though modest in its beginning—is prelude to a noble and vast enterprise to be known as ‘INDUMUKHI WORLD’ which will incorporate several initiatives for promoting education, literature, arts & sciences, health, status of women & children, animal care and more. Indumukhi World, in brief, is not about ‘helping’ people; it’s about ‘empowering’ people.

Apart from its prime venture—Indumukhi Publications—this vast Indumukhi World is going to embrace in its fold: Awards for foster parents, scholarships for promising students, an Indo-Iranian Cultural Library, a Prosperity Centre, schools and hostels for marginalized girl children, a Nutrition Centre for poor mothers and children, a pet care & counseling centre, a cowshed, a psychological counseling unit, a unique primary school for children with moral empowerment wing, a holistic health care unit, Yoga Centre, Dance, Drama & Music School, a drug & tobacco de-addiction centre, a creative world for children to showcase their hidden talents, vocational institutes for financial empowerment of women & youth, and much more. For all these thousand dollar projects, visibly the only earning entity is going to be Indumukhi Publications. Is it still difficult for you to guess what the motive behind this publishing house is?

It is such a lofty vision that drives the initiation of Indumukhi Publications. It is not a publishing house to ‘exploit’ writers but to give them wings, to help them unravel their creative powers. Experiences reveal to us that even though it is the writer who authors a book, conceives, imagines, plans and produces its contents, he is the last in profit-sharing. On an average, authors hardly get even 10% from the proceeds of the books they have written using their own time and energy. We have dared to turn the table by putting the authors first. We are primarily e-publishers (though we do not say ‘No’ to traditional books) and we believe that now we are in the era of eBooks. Traditional hard-bound books are becoming obsolete, off the shelves, and handy, portable, on-the-go, easy-to-read eBooks are becoming trendy. So, if you have written—or are planning to write—an eBook, we are there to help. Our expert services include: editing, proofreading, translation, cover designs, and even a thoughtful review of your eBook. Our services are presently in Hindi and English but more languages will be included as more experts join our team.

Starting with our own simple but quality-packed books, Indumukhi Publications stretches its arms to take in its embrace all budding writers. At the same time, it opens up vistas for all book distributors and eBook distribution channels who want to strike a good business by selling and promoting books/eBooks of abiding values. We are also in the process of building up our team of writers, translators, proofreaders, graphic designers, etc. and if you fall in one of these categories, you’re welcome!

Indumukhi Publications is dedicated to a noble lady, (late) Mrs. Indumukhi Mishra (1932-1977) – who died in her prime age leaving behind us a small personal library with scores of books and, above all, an avid longing in the heart of her progeny for books that can truly change lives. She bloomed like a wild flower, away from the parks of fame and glory, but the fragrances of her mental highness, her struggles and ever-fervent quest for knowledge will always be retained in each book published and promoted by this publication house bearing her name.

Children are our special assets and our most targeted readers because we believe that each child is a candle of hope in this morally dark world. Here, with our humble efforts in the area of knowledge, we declare our solemn pledge that our publications will continue keeping its focus on children–today and tomorrow–till these beautiful lines of the poet John Addington Symonds incorporating the vision of Baha’u’llah (The Messiah of this new age) will see the light of realization:

These things shall be, a loftier race
Than ever the world hath known shall rise
With flames of freedom in their souls,
And light of knowledge in their eyes.

They shall be gentle, brave, and strong
To spill no drop of blood, but dare
All that may plant man's lordship firm
On earth and fire, and sea, and air.
